Can you tell that it's Brittany, eating Frito Pie...in the windy, cold evening? We had school to do, and then we were also packing...I was sooooo busy finishing all the gathering and then the loading up of the truck...Nick came home and helped finish it up, and then we were off for the 2 hours and a bit drive to the state park...there was a nice little stop at a new large Buc-ees in Wharton...they even had a huge, mechanical, life-size Buc-ee Beaver! We all posed, and a lady that worked there to our picture with my phone...uploaded to Facebook! We arrived, and it was already dark, and the office was closed...we didn't mean to, but we took a site on the lake that was assigned as one of the sites for a Boy Scout troop. Nick set to doing the tent, with the car lights helping him...I set to doing the "kitchen" area...setting up our table and the camp stove and the tablecloth on picnic table, and those tablecloth clips that we just bought came in very handy! While doing my setting up, I tripped over one of the picnic table legs, and fell on the concrete slab and it really hurt on my right knee...everybody ran to check on me...it wasn't so bad...still have a scar from the really bad one at Disney almost 3 years ago...We set to heating up chili and having frito pie, even though it was a little windy and getting chilly...then a problem--Battery died in the car! Not good! We decided we'd have to worry about it in the morning...we cleaned up...all food in the car, and all trash to the dumpster...Man was it cozy in the tent...we played word games and talked and told stories...good times! It got a little cold and uncomfortable at night--on my nose/face mostly, but it wasn't horrible...poor Nick, the new air mattress we got went dead...leak somewhere...
