Christmas Day Surprises

Brittany and Austin just opening a join gift of fuse bead art supplies...the only one I got of them together opening presents...
It is always soooo hard to sleep on the night before Christmas...I just don't know when the kids will wake up and come and try to get us up...the excitement is so great for me too...what will be there reaction to it all?! Well, it finally got started around 7:35...mom was peaking in my room, but she didn't hear me answer...then, I got up and started getting ready...went to get a drink out of the fridge...found that some meat was leaking and started to clean that up...caused Brittany to come down with mom...then Austin came running down...so, I told them to wait before going in the living room...wanted Nana to join us for it all...after she was on her way, the stockings were first...they kept things pretty clean and everyone enjoyed opening and watching others open as well...Santa left some big things out for the kids--Austin and Brittany both got new, big bikes...Brittany got a large dress form that she had wanted, and Austin got a red desk chair...there were lots of great gifts from Santa--Austin: new cd player radio, Webkinz, GI Joes, Wii games, Bionicle, Lego sets, jacket, Blue Ray movies, and more...Brittany: IPOD dock alarm clock, New Moon game, Twilight Scene It, Harimuka mannequins with fabric, jacket, New Moon cd, and more...There were clothes from us for them...Nana gave them cash and some things like socks...Grandma got Austin a couple of Lego kits (he cried because of how much he had wanted that sports car one) and Brittany a New Moon game and a Project Runway fashion design kit...she got them each Build-a-Bear gift cards and Webkinz/Lil'Kinz sets...There were gifts from Aunts and Uncles as well (silly string and lots of cool things in baskets from Aunt Ali and Uncle Matt...solar car for Austin and Jonas calendar/necklace-earring set from Aunt Carolina and Uncle Bob)...I got some great stuff as well (it pays to make a list!)--new bigger, better Crock-Pot, 600 thread count sateen sheets, new IKEA white duvet set, stand mixer with chopper, mellamine bowls, digital photo frame, IPOD nano (so Brittany can have my other one since hers broke), Sonic gift cards, IPOD gift card, Oil of Olay, and a Buc-ees shirt! Nick got an IPOD Touch, propane tree for camping, blue ray player with surround sound, laptop portable desk, polo shirt, nerf gun from Austin, razor/trimmer from Brittany, and candy/Buc-ees jerkey! Oh, did I mention I got Toy Story Mania for the Wii!!!

We did pretty good keeping things clean...Nick worked hard on dinner (boneless rib-eye), even making some potatoes au gratin...Eddie came over...Bob, Carolina, Sophia, and Carolina's sister Diana came over in the afternoon...We gave Sophia her gifts...I think she likes them all! Nana had got her a learning laptop, learning bunny, her own stocking, and all in her own Santa bag...we got her some Leap Frog learning maracas, Leaf Frog magnetic farm animal toy, and a walker/ride-on toy...Ali had sent her some cute clothes...We all enjoyed diner...Brittany dressed her dress form...they both tried out their bikes...we played some games...we took some pictures...we ate pie and chocolate cake for dessert...it was getting cold...Lana left to Bob and Carolina's...we played the new Wii game...played the new Life game...Austin spent sooo much time putting together new Lego sets...ahh--it was a great day!

Funny and sweet--I asked Brittany if she expected to get the dress form, and she was like "no" with a big old smile, and then she asked "where did you hide the bike?"...we laughed cause the boxes were in the garage and they never saw! :) Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!
