So, we went ahead as planned and headed up to Bastrop State Park for our one night of camping. It was mostly to go and check it out before taking the Cub Scout Pack there later. It was rainy, but at least it wasn't the thunderstorms that came Saturday when we were back at home. We cooked a nice Black Forest cake in the dutch oven. We roasted hot dogs over fire. In the morning we had bacon and eggs over a gas stove. We hiked and talked to the rangers. It was all fun, and it was a bit tiring. We had planned to have sandwiches for lunch there, but we ended up going to McDonald's on the way back instead.
