Disney Final Part

Austin and I waiting for Soarin' to take off--Epcot...final morning in the parks...
Well, I sit here at the Hampton Inn in Crestview, FL...I will be home tonight. Going back to the last 4 days...Saturday, September 6th--Animal Kingdom again...our earliest wake-up the whole trip. We had a Safari breakfast at 8 a.m. with Donald, Mickey, Goofy, and Daisy. It had an African flare, and it was very good. But, it was hard for us to eat much. We went straight to an early morning safari ride. We saw some nice awake animals--rhinos were pretty close! We had fun talking with people from Africa and playing mancala. We went over to Rafiki's Planet Watch, and Brittany and Austin got to push the horn for the train ride there. We met Pocohantas, Rafiki, and Jiminy Cricket. There were animals to see and pet...a talking recycling bin as well. We also did Everest, Dino dig, Dinosaur, Nemo Musical way up close, and finished with the parade. We had fun relaxing at the pool pretty early too.

Sunday, September 7th--Hollywood Studios again. We got there when they opened and headed straight to Toy Story Mania. Wow, the line gets long! We met the Power Rangers, went to the Jedi Training Academy--Austin was the first one picked and loved it! We met the Cars--Lightning McQueen and Mater. We rode Rockin' Roller Coaster (yes...Brittany too!) They rode Tower of Terror--twice! (no, not me!) We left and headed for a daytime swim at the pool, with our good friends Michele and Bobby and their 3 boys joining us. It was so nice that they came to visit. We then showered and changed and went to our favorite meal--dinner at O'Hana...a Hawaiian feast--the new wontons are awesome! There was limbo, coconut races, hula lessons, and an awesome Mai Tai! The music for the fireworks didn't come through--oh well--we still had an awesome table to watch them and the water parade.

Monday, September 8th--Magic Kingdom--last full day. We slept in a bit. We went in the late morning and wore matching shirts. We took it easy and rode the horse trolly from the front to the castle. We watched a fun show--Share a Dream with Mickey at the castle, while enjoying a funnel cake. We headed to Splash Mountain, and then I got picked for the Cowboy Camp with Woody and Jessie (not that I was trying!) We did Splash and Big Thunder Mountain...(the kids didn't like how wet we got!) We went to Pirates ride, and then Austin got picked by Jack Sparrow for the Pirate Tutoial...he did a great job! We rode the ride, and then went to the Tiki Room, rode the Magic Carpets, and had a Dole Whip! We went to Tomorrowland--rode more rides, and Brittany cut her big toe pretty good. We then headed to Contemporary Resort by way of monorail...Brittany and Austin got to ride up front...they loved it! We had dinner with Chef Mickey and his pals Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. We ended by watching the fireworks from the terrace.

Final time in the park--Tuesday, September 9th--Epcot...straight to Spaceship Earth (the big ball), Soarin', Innoventions (velcro frogs to make and take), Test Track, and all but me went on Mission Space. We went to Wilderness Lodge for our lunch at Whispering Canyon. The milkshakes for our drinks did us in, and we could hardly eat our big lunches! We didn't even get much dessert! We tried to see the geyser go off, but we couldn't wait that long; so we headed out. Nick stayed to get his ride to the airport and fly home. The kids and I drove to our stop, and now we are gearing to head home!
